CHARLESTOWN — Donna J. Boardman, 72, of Blueberry Hill in Charlestown, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at her home following a period of failing health. She was born Aug. 5, 1945, in Montpelier, Vermont, the daughter of Harold F. and Joan M. (Cyr) Dearborn and had been a longtime area resident. Donna had been employed as a nurse’s aide at Cedar Hill Continuing Care Community in Windsor. After receiving her associate’s degree in accounting from Granite State College, she was employed as an accountant at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden.
Donna enjoyed playing bingo, caring for her flower gardens and teaching her sisters to cook, but her number-one love was being with her husband, John on their motorcycle.
Members of her family include her husband, John W. Boardman Sr. of Charlestown; two sons, Timothy Boardman, Colchester, Vermont and John W. Boardman Jr. of Charlestown; a daughter, Cassandra Boardman of Springfield, Vermont; a granddaughter, Patience Boardman of Ripley, Mississippi; two brothers, Darrell Cyr of Windsor, Virginia and Timothy Dearborn of Greenwich, New York; seven sisters, Joan Lindley of Savannah, Georgia, Theresa Sisson of Charleston, South Carolina, Paula Burke of Agawam, Massachusetts, Nancy Roache of Westfield, Massachusetts, Janet Phillips of Shaftsbury, Vermont, Sherry LeMay of Whitehall, New York and Diane Carrier of St. Johnsbury, Vermont; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan St., in Claremont, with the Rev. Fred Sisson, Donna’s brother-in-law, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
