Roy M. Ayotte Sr ., 73

MANCHESTER — Roy M. Ayotte Sr., 73, of Manchester, died Jan. 26, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Newport, N.H., on July 15, 1944, he was the son of Alfred and Daisy (Morrill) Ayotte. He was educated in the Newport school system.

Roy enjoyed motorcycling, woodworking, fishing and hunting. Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who cherished time spent with family.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Helen (St. Hillaire) Ayotte of Manchester; his children, Susan Ireland of Troy, Roy M. Ayotte II of Swanzey, Penny Lussier of Swanzey, Sherri Mann and husband David of Swanzey, Patrick Ayotte of Brattleboro, Vt., Bonni Verge of Swanzey and Shawn Ayotte of Manchester; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his siblings, Edgar Ayotte of Goshen, Theresa Woods of Nashua, Alfred Ayotte of Florida, Robert Ayotte of Unity and Gail Peterson of Florida; many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife L. Helene and his siblings Kenneth and Gloria.

Visiting hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North Street, will be Thursday from 4-6 p.m. with a memorial service to immediately follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
