The Windsor girls basketball team edged out a victory on Thursday over Hartford, 48-42. “We had a real solid defensive game and Adi Prior was the main reason for that”, said head coach Bruce MacKay. Olivia Rockwood led the way for the lady Yellow Jackets with 24 points while teammate Angelina Bigwood had nine. Windsor will be back on the court on Saturday when they travel to Springfield. Tip off is scheduled for 2:30PM.
Green Mountain rolls over Woodstock
The Green Mountain girls basketball team played a very young Woodstock team and won, 71-13. Green Mountain jumped out to a 22-4 first quarter lead. Paige Karl led Green Mountain with 16 points and 15 steals in 16 minutes. Maddie Wilson added 12 points and Hannah Buffum had 9 points and 7 rebounds. All 12 players got minutes and they all scored.
Bellows Falls improves to 11-2; grabs Liquid Gold Cup
The Bellows Falls girls team took on Springfield on Thursday in the annual Liquid Gold Cup and won, 60-51. Bellows Falls improves their record to 11-2. Taylor Goodell netted 22 points and 11 rebounds for her 3rd double double of the season. Molly Potter came off the bench with 10 points.
“Our defense was tough tonight”, said head coach Todd Wells. “This team just continues to find ways to win. Every player on the team comes in and works real hard whether its for 2 min or 6 min.”

Bellows Falls boys comeback to win
The Bellows Falls boys went to Proctor High school and came away with a great come from behind victory, 57-52. Proctor came out hot on offense and 5 different players scored in the first quarter of the game and jumped out to a 15-8 lead after one. Bellows Falls finally settled down in the second quarter and played better defense and better offense but still gave up some easy baskets at times and at the half Proctor was up 26-21. Proctor continued to stayed hot offense and defense in the 3 quarter scoring 17 points and only giving up 11 and went up by 11 at the end of 3. After a back and forth quarter, Bellows Falls was able to squeeze out the victory.
Top scorers for Bellows Falls were Griff Waryas notching 21 points and 12 rebounds, Shane Clark with 11 points and 11 rebounds, Ryan Kelly contributing 10 points and Joe Terry with 9 points.
