PERU — The Manchester Section of the Green Mountain Club will offer snowshoe treks on two sections of the Catamount Trail.
Participants can meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Catamount Trail parking lot on South Road in Peru. Leave some cars at the lot, and drive around to park at the end of Upper French Hollow Road. Snowshoers will head north on the CT for 3.7 miles with several hundred feet of elevation change. Bring extra clothing, snacks, lunch, fluids.
On Thursday, Feb. 15, participants can meet at 9:30 a.m. at FR 10, leave cars there and carpool to start snowshoeing from Hapgood Pond Road north to FR 10 on the Catamount Trail.
On this section, the group will snowshoe 3.1 miles with about 500 feet of elevation variation. Bring extra layers, snacks and fluids. RSVP is requested.
