Powder skiing at Sunapee

Winter weather moved back in at the end of last week with temperatures dropping along with the wind chill. A light, fluffy snow fell overnight on Thursday, Feb. 1. Newport picked up two inches.

Powder anybody? According to the lead groomer at Mount Sunapee Resort, “There’s going to be some sweet powder skiing here Friday morning. With two inches of snow Thursday and four more overnight, the mountain is covered in a lovely blanket of white. February is already turning out to be a great month for skiing and riding at Mount Sunapee and our vibes for a snowy month are even stronger now!

Nearly 4 inches of snow fell on Sunday., as predicted, before turning to rain and creating a covering of slushy snow. Many school districts had two-hour delays Monday.
