The Mount Royal boys and girls continue their strong season by sweeping Nute on Friday. First for the girls, it was a 53-14 victory. Alexis Matte led the way for the lady Knights dropping in 25 points in 32 minutes. Teammates Sophie LaRose netted 13 points and Jacinta Hogan helped with 10 points. The girls will be back in action on Tuesday when the travel to Hinsdale.
In the night cap, the boys rolled with a 78-40 win. Alex Normandin led the way for the boys with 26 points on the night. Andrew Normandin contributed with 17 points while teammates Kolbe Bocko had 16 and Louis Larosaliere netted 10. The boys will take on Hinsdale on Tuesday.
Green Mountain falls to Poultney

Another great defensive effort by the Chieftains wasn’t enough as Poultney made the plays down the stretch to erase a 3 point lead with two minutes left and secure the victory over Green Mountain on Friday.
Green Mountain was led in scoring by Brooks Smith and Ryan McSally with 10 points a piece. James Anderson and Chase Smith chipped in with 6 points a piece.
“We had an outstanding effort on defense but just had some costly turnovers and gave up some offensive rebounds in the final two minutes which decided the game tonight,” said Brian Rapanotti.
Green Mountain heads on the road to West Rutland on Tuesday.
Green Mountain is 6-8 on the season.
In JV action, the GM Boys JV team beat Poultney 56-25 to move to 8-4 on the year. Everett Mosher led GM with 11 and Dominic Handren had 9. Skyler Klezos chipped in 8. They travel to Mount Anthony on Monday.
Windsor topped by Fair Haven
The Windsor boys basketball team fell to Fair Haven on Friday by a score of 75-67 on Friday. “It was a really good battle between both teams,” said head coach Harry Ladue. “It was very intense, but we came out on the short end,” he added.
Seth Balch led the way for the Yellow Jackets with 22 points and Ben Meagher had 17.
Windsor will welcome Springfield on Tuesday.
Stevens girls beaten by ConVal
It wasn’t a good night for the Stevens girls basketball team as they dropped another tough one, this time to ConVal 58-48. Tess Whitney for the Cardinals hit for 14 points including hitting all 8 free throws. Sydney Miller threw in 16 points for the Cardinals as well.
The girls are back home on Monday when they host Gilford.
