LUDLOW — Mrs. Geneva Blanchard Lampert, 91, formerly of Ludlow, Vermont, died Jan. 30,
2018 in Spring, Texas of natural causes. She was born Dec. 26, 1926 in Cavendish, daughter of Frank Blanchard and Ethel Johnson Blanchard. Geneva married Walter H. Lampert, of Ludlow, on Jan. 10, 1948. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1998, prior to his death in 2001.
Geneva lived most of her life in Proctorsville, Cavendish and Ludlow area. She moved to Texas in 2008, after suffering a serious stroke, to be closer to her only daughter, Joni Lampert Schultz, son in-law, Daniel Schultz and her granddaughter, Abigail. Her heart always remained in Vermont.
Geneva worked at General Electric in Rutland, Vermont until 1983. After leaving GE, she
opened her own bakery in Ludlow. She came from a family of excellent bakers, and had
many devoted customers. She was especially known for her donuts, chiffon cakes,
cream puffs and various baked goodies.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter H. Lampert, of Ludlow and 13 brothers and
sisters in the Ludlow / Cavendish area. Survivors include her daughter, Joni Lampert
Schultz, son-in-law, Daniel Schultz, and granddaughter, Abigail, of Spring, Texas.
Survivors also include two sisters: Elsie Blanchard Wilder of Ludlow, and Lucille
Blanchard Curtis of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews locally and all across
the country.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 3 to 5 p.m. on June 9, 2018 for her friends and family at the Proctorsville Fire Department Hall. Memorial contributions may be
