Grafton gallery to host Albright exhibit

GRAFTON — Gallery North Star will present an exhibition by renowned still life oil painter Julie Y. Baker Albright now through March 11. An opening reception for the artist took place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10.

Rendered in a style reminiscent of the Old Masters, Albright’s still life paintings demonstrate an exceptional control of both subject and medium. This exhibition showcases her “sublime proficiency in evoking the essential elements of her subjects.” Aesthetic arrangements artfully captured are the hallmarks of her work, all according to a press release from Gallery North Star.

A sixth-generation Vermonter and graduate of the University of Vermont, Albright resides in the northern part of the state. She has spent her life as a professional artist, working first in clay and progressing to watercolors, and finally to oils. Her award-winning paintings have been exhibited in more than 40 juried exhibitions across the country.

Gallery North Star, located in historic Grafton, is dedicated to presenting a diverse selection of work by Vermont’s and New England’s finest artists in a unique setting. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
