New Londoner named vice chair of foundation’s board of trustees

CONCORD – Todd C. Emmons has been elected vice chair of the board of trustees for the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation, a nonprofit agency focused on helping the state’s families plan and pay for college.

Emmons, of New London, was elected during the agency’s February board meeting.

He has served on the foundation board since February 2013 and is the chief financial officer for the Spaulding Youth Center in Northfield.  He received his MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business and earned a master’s in science in economics from the London School of Economics & Political Science.

“I am delighted Todd continues to support [the foundation’s] work in the state of New Hampshire by sharing his expert financial expertise and his valuable time,” said René A. Drouin, foundation president and chief executive officer.

The foundation was established by the banking community in 1962 to guarantee student loans and currently works to support borrowers in repaying federal student loans. It also guides and supports the work of the Center for College Planning, which provides students and families in the state with free information about the college planning process — from savings options and college admissions requirements, to applying for financial aid and scholarships.
