LINCOLN — Profile outdistanced the D-IV field in the NHIAA Alpine boys state championship Monday at Loon Mountain.
Profile had 738 points to edge Derryfield, 733. Sunapee placed sixth with 626 points and Newport was 10th in the 11-team field with 352 points.
The Lakers were led by Riley Balch who placed 11th in the giant slalom and 16th in the slalom.
In the giant slalom Balch recorded a time of 1:24.25, which was 7.02 seconds behind the leader. Newport’s Isaiah Stephens was 21st in 1:27.86.
In the slalom event Michael Mullen of Sunapee was 15th in 1:33.78 and Stephens was 25th in 1:41.66.
Profile was led by Jack Sampo who placed first in the slalom and was third in the giant slalom.
