NEW LONDON — A Healthy Weight and Wellness Series will be conducted at the Newport Health Center from Feb. 28 to April 4 and at New London Hospital from March 6 to April 10.
If you are trying to lose or control your weight, join Registered Dietitian Birgit Humpert for a free six-week nutrition program that will teach you how to develop healthier eating habits, lose weight and improve your overall health.’
Participants will be able to learn how the foods you eat affect their health; work with a registered dietitian to develop your weight loss goals; master meal planning tips; learn how eating and exercise fit together; understand how to eat “smart” at restaurants and discover mindful eating and stress management tips.
Classes will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Community Room at the Newport Health Center, 11 John Stark Highway.
The same program with instructor Elke Melody will be held in the May Jones Conference Room at New London Hospital on Tuesdays from 5:30-7 p.m. starting March 6 through April 10.
