DOVER, N.H. — Dorothy A. Lewis, 82, passed away peacefully holding hands with her daughters, Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Watson Fields in Dover, New Hampshire.
She was born in Charlestown, daughter of Marion and Verne Bradish. She was married 27 years to Ernest W. Lewis, a career U.S. Army soldier. As an Army wife, she relocated often and looked forward to each new location, including Fort Knox, Kentucky, Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Fort Hancock, New Jersey, Fort Hamilton, New York, Nuremburg, Germany, and Fort Lewis, Washington.
Dot worked for Moore Business Forms for 22 years and retired in 1994.
Dody loved spending time with her family. She was an incredibly loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed taking week-long trips with her sister, Ruth, to York Beach. Dody was a kind, gracious lady to all who touched her life.
Family members include her daughters, Lynda McPhee and husband Robert of Rollinsford, New Hampshire; and Rhonda Nadeau and husband Conrad of Guilford, Maine; five grandchildren, Eric, Nicole, Margaret, Shelley and Christopher, and eight great-grandchildren, Henry, Brianna, Logan, Aiden, Taylor, Damon, Cecilia and Brady; and a brother-in-law and several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest W. Lewis; her brother, Raymond Bradish; and her two sisters, Thelma Foshey and Ruth Kinson.
Those who wish may make memorial donations in her name to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Cancer Society,9 Erie Drive, Suite 101, Natick, MA 01760, or charity of their choice.
The family extends its thankfulness to Watson Fields for the care of their mother.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, Feb. 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hellenic Center, 219 Long Hill Rd., Dover, NH and a graveside burial service will be held Saturday May 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Franconia, New Hampshire
