WOODSVILLE — By finishing 11th in the final Division IV standings, Sunapee, 10-8, was matched up with No. 6 Woodsville, 14-4, in the opening round of the playoffs Tuesday night.
The timing couldn’t have been any worse. The Engineers finished their regular season on an eight-game winning streak and had no trouble extending it to nine by downing the Lakers, 64-37.
Woodsville was led by Olivia Sarkis, a freshman, and Lily Kinder, a senior, who both scored 20 points. Molly Clough chipped in with 12 points.
Sunapee senior Kalleigh Durkee tallied 12 points. Abby Pollari, a freshman, added nine points.
Woodsville will meet Epping, the No. 3 Division IV finisher at 16-2, on Friday in a quarterfinal contest.
