The Fall Mountain boys’ basketball team’s season has come to end as they lost to Somersworth in the first round of the Division III NHIAA tournament on Thursday, 75-59. Fall Mountain managed to outscore Somersworth in the second half 43-39, but the Wildcats could not rebound from a 20-point halftime deficit. “The team played hard and never gave up. We did exactly what we wanted to do and held their two star players to 19 points total. Unfortunately the other guys really stepped up for them,” said Fall Mountain head coach Justin Cassarino. “We had one bad quarter that that really hurt us… We grew from last year and we will look to continue to build this program up.” In the second quarter, the Wildcats were outscored 25-7. Junior Owen Marandino scored 13 points for the Wildcats while senior Michael Murdoch pitched in 12. Fall Mountain’s season ends with a record of 9-10.
