Hi, my name is Kameron Towle and I am the new sports editor here at Eagle Times. I have been surrounded by sports my whole life and I have grown a deep passion for the art of sport. I grew up playing baseball, basketball, football, as well as running track and field. Both of my parents coached multiple youth sports while I was growing up and all three of my siblings were multi-sport athletes. I started writing sports a few years ago for fun, submitting my own articles to websites who would publish my work. This interest of mine became a passion when I started school at Plymouth State University. As well as studying English and Professional Communications while at school, I wrote for the campus newspaper, and soon enough I was writing for a local newspaper in my hometown of Dover, NH on school breaks.
Some of my fondest childhood memories are centered around sports and I have found that competition brings out human emotion and pushes us to levels we weren’t sure we were capable of. Whether it was the proud look on my dad’s face when I scored three touchdown’s on my birthday, or the smile of my mom after I would cross the finish line after struggling to get around the track, these are the things that I reflect on. This is not because of any achievement, but because of the pure joy that I gave to people close to me by simply competing. This is the effect that sports can have, and with my opportunity at Eagle Times, I will try to capture this by putting an emphasis on the local sports in the area and delving into the surrounding close-knit communities.
