Nordic titles to Cougars once again

GORHAM — The Kearsarge Regional High School girls captured their third straight Division III Nordic title Tuesday at Great Glen Trails and the boys won their second straight.

The girls posted a score to 774 to beat out Fall Mountain, 755, and White Mountains, 721 and on the boy’s side it was Kearsarge 751, White Mountains 738 and Bow 727.

In the girls event Kearsarge placed five skiers in the Top 10 in the classic and freestyle races. Lili Baer, a freshman, was first in classic and raced home third in freestyle. Sister Marliese Baer, a sophomore, was third in classic and second in freestyle

Marlia Richer was seventh in freestyle and Jenna Cook sixth in the classic for the Cougars.

The Kearsarge boys had four skiers in the Top 10 in classic and three in freestyle. Hunter Burns was third in the freestyle event for Kearsarge.

Trevor Pauling was fifth in the classic and seventh in freestyle. Ben Boulton placed seventh in classic and eighth in freestyle. Sophomore Edward Stowell was 10th in classic and 11th in freestyle.
