Snow and rain arrives

Sullivan County got dumped on with both snow and rain during Saturday’s Nor’easter that resulted in some serious flooding along with New Hampshire coast.

Snowfall amounts varied but generally fell within the 3-6-inch forecast. The Claremont-Newport area ended up with about 3 inches with 5 inches reported at nearby Lempster. It was a wet, heavy snow that should melt quickly.

Mount Sunapee Resort still has plenty of snow for spring skiing with a 14-26-inch base and 14.5 miles of trails open.

Overnight on Sunday about one inch of snow fell on much of New Hampshire. The outlook for the next storm at midweek wasn’t quite so promising with a prediction of 6-12 inches. That would blanket the ground once again but with a few warm days it will disappear quickly.
