Grantham elects officials, holds off on articles

By TIMOTHY LAROCHE
GRANTHAM — Citing slick roads and a winter storm warning for much of the day on Tuesday, election officials postponed the deliberative portion of the annual town meeting.

Voting on the warrant articles will be rescheduled to March 27 at 5 p.m. at the Grantham Town Hall.

Despite the snow, residents cast ballots for several seats, electing Peter Garland to the Board of Selectmen with 145 votes; C. Peter James and Peter Guillette to the Planning Board with 254 and 12 votes, respectively; Maria Dahlman to the Trustees of Trust Funds with 253 votes; Patricia Beasley and Megan Alexander to three year seats as Trustees of the Dunbar Free Library with 118 and 11 votes, respectively; Carolyn Simon to a one year seat as Trustee of the Dunbar Free Library; Maynard Goldman as treasurer with 254 votes; Lorie McClory as moderator with 18 votes. Dan Field and C. Peter James tied for a single cemetery trustee seat with two votes each.

In the school election, Jodie Poljacik and Leslie Nesbitt took school board seats with 201 and 126 votes, respectively; Mary Ann Sears was elected to treasurer with 258 votes; Carl Hanson was elected as moderator with 263 votes; Brenda Molloy was elected to school district clerk with 16 votes.
