N.H. Maple Weekend set for March 24 and 25

The early springtime ritual of trekking out to a maple sugar shack and watching as sap quietly drips into plastic and aluminum buckets from maple trees is a tradition at sugarhouses in Sullivan and Merrimack counties and nearby Cheshire County.

If you’re lucky, you can also sneak a peek at the production process and watch as 40 gallons of sap is boiled over a wood fire to yield just one gallon of syrup.

You can find nearly a hundred great sugar shacks across the state but if you’re looking to make an adventure or day out of it. Listed below are some places you may wish to visit during the official New Hampshire Maple Weekend (March 24-25, 2018).

Celebrating 75 years, the New Hampshire Maple Producers Association Inc. is a non-profit trade association dedicated to the promotion of New Hampshire’s many acclaimed sugarhouses, and its delicious maple syrup.

You can bet the following sugar shacks will have plenty of activities (and samples!) going on, according to the association.
