New Hampshire ski resorts enjoyed a busy weekend following the major snowstorm that
blanketed the area on Wednesday and into Thursday. Some areas in northern New Hampshire received nearly 30 inches of new snow. It doesn’t get any better than that for skiers. Mount Escapee Resort reported 15 inches at its New bury location.
Area student got another day off because of the snowstorm but were back at the books on Friday. The Fall Mountain Regional School District got a little bonus with a two-hour delay on Friday morning.
The storm was impressive, no matter how you look at it. At least it was impressive because it was the biggest snowfall of the entire winter season. By Sunday there were periods of snow for a few minutes and then the sun would return.
Now that we’re in March the snow should melt rather quickly and spring sports teams will be able to get outside as soon as the fields dry up. Unfortunately another Nor’easter dropped by on Tuesday, Town Meeting Day, and left more snow. That was the third Nor’easter in 12 days. It’s good to know that Spring arrives on Tuesday, March 20.
