Don’t forget to license your dog!

It’s that time of year again so the Rutland County Humane Society (RCHS) would like to remind you to license your dog by April 1! You’ll need to have them up-to-date on their rabies shot so please check with your veterinarian and make an appointment, if necessary. Did you know that Vermont state law requires all cats to have their rabies shots, too? If you’re not sure, please check with your vet to make sure your dog and cat are up to date on their shots!

THOR

5 Year Old. Neutered Male. Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Mix. 56 lbs.

I’m a friendly, outgoing fella who enjoys being with people. I’ll happily sit next to you if you scratch my back and give me some extra love and attention. I know how to Sit and I love treats so I’m sure I can learn more commands and maybe even some tricks! Oh and I love tennis balls. If you toss one I will catch it in mid air and then drop it so you can toss it again for me. I don’t play with plush squeaky toys very much but maybe once I settle into my home I will. I’m a gentle fella and I’m a joy to be around. I was surrendered by my owner on February 28 because she had housing issues and could no longer keep me. I lived with other dogs and we did well together but if you already have a dog at home it will be important that we meet to make sure we get along. I have no known history with cats. I’ve lived with kids and did well with them. I walk nicely on a leash and I think walks, hikes and other outdoor adventures sound like lots of fun. I’m ready to start the next chapter of my life so if a fella like me would make a great addition to your home and family please stop by for a visit!
