Goshen presents Elaine Bevilacqua with Certificate of Appreciation

GOSHEN — While she was counting ballots at Saturday night’s Goshen Town Meeting, Elaine Bevilacqua was called to the front of the room by Police Chief Edward Andersen Jr.

A surprised Bevilacqua quickly found out why Chief Andersen wanted to chat with her. That’s when she received a Certificate of Appreciation for all the work she has done in Goshen for decades.

Andersen read from a prepared recap of Bevilacqua’s life in Goshen.

“Elaine Bevilacqua moved from Connecticut to Goshen with her husband David to help with the family business, which eventually became Dave’s Pizza. When Elaine wasn’t working at the restaurant in the summer she taught skiing at Mount Sunapee in the winter.

“Eventually she went to work at Newport High School and then on to Violette’s Market, which was a perfect fit because of her love for cooking and her warm and approachable personality.

Elaine has always been an active member of her church as well as her community She has volunteered for the Red Cross where she traveled to assist hurricane victims. She has also volunteered for the 4-H organization as well as school, church and library programs

“Elaine has lived her life with a passion for learning. She is always open to new experiences and filing her life with as many memories as possible.

“Elaine’s genuine kindness, caring and devotion to her family, friends and acquaintances has broadened her circle of friends to extend beyond the Goshen community. Because of her love of people, knowledge and her faith she has been an inspiration to her children, grandchildren and all that know her
