Alice in Wonderland exhibit runs at Springfield Library

SPRINGFIELD-Local artist Bob MacRae’s Alice in Wonderland exhibit runs through March into April. Mixed media, a photograph of Alice Liddell, a coat of arms and a bronze engraving are some of the ways artists have interpreted their love of Lewis Carroll’s Alice. The paintings are hung above the Historical Collection files; we’re happy to bring them down to eye level for a student look.

What can I be when I grow up? Springfield children, all children, think about what work lies ahead. For Judith Nelson, born and raised in Springfield, her interests developed into a lifelong career as a professional graphic artist, and her work is displayed now in the Library lobby. Children will recognize Marc Brown’s Arthur, of picture book and PBS fame; adults will appreciate the books on drawing and illustration, available to circulate. The exhibit runs until mid-April.
