Growth

Growth is inevitable, even for the proverbial blind squirrel who gets the nut every so often. After a while, he learns certain pathways and finds his cache more frequently, despite his blindness That’s Mother Nature!

We humans also find our way, learning certain skills, creating habits (even bad ones), and we end up growing. It’s a grand cycle.

For some, growth is frequently a slow, meticulous process, while for others it’s more instant, and they adapt to change quickly and with few obstacles. Some folks embrace growth and the change it brings, looking forward to new opportunities.

At the Chapin Senior Center, we are in the growth business. If you research classic human development theory, the end of the line is literally called “old age.” Google it. But here at COA, we choose not to accept that stage of human development as the end of growth. Quite the contrary, in fact. That’s why we continue to adapt, change, and yes…grow.

Wee are in a constant mode of development at COA, with new field trips, creative twists on programs and activities, opportunities to learn new things, and the evolution of our human spirit, through the many pathways to socialize, interact, and engage with each other. That’s where true growth happens!

As winter comes to an end we begin to see nature’s growth reemerge in the form of shoots and leaflets in pink, bright green, and spring yellow. It’s a sure sign of what’s to come.

Our team at the Chapin Senior Center welcomes you to join us this spring for many growth opportunities—some new and some tried-and-true.

All year long we test our boundaries, explore new opportunities for growth, and continually evolve to meet the new and emerging needs of our nine communities we are honored to serve.

Come grow with us!

Kelley, Karen, Mario, and Sharon
