NEWPORT — Coaches for the spring sports season at Newport High School and Newport Middle School were approved by the Newport School Board at its March 22nd meeting.
Coaches are compensated at different percentages based on the $34,363 starting salary of a new teacher in the Newport School District.
Varsity coaches Jonathan Hamel, baseball, Sam McNeel, softball, and PJ Lovely, track will each receive $2,577.
Coaches receiving $2,062 include Brad Palmer, assistant track, Jay Blaine, junior varsity baseball and Dave Ackerman, junior varsity softball.
Middle School coaches will be paid $1,718. They are Scott McNamara, baseball, and Jeremy Willey, softball.
