Sunapee recounts have no changes

SUNAPEE — Following a three-hour recount Monday afternoon there was no change in one election race or a request to purchase and equip a Fast Response Utility and Forestry Truck for the Sunapee Fire Department.

On Election Day, March 13, in the three-way race for two Selectmen’s seats for three years, Joshua Trow led the way with 500 votes and incumbent John Augustine had 325. Finishing third was Aaron Warkentine, a write-in candidate with 314 votes.

The only change found Warkentine losing one vote and dropping to 313.

There was also a change of one vote on the Forestry Truck article. On voting day the request lost, 340-337. The recount came in at 341 No and 337 Yes.

There were 704 votes cast on March 13 or 25 percent of Sunapee’s registered voters.
