BELLOWS FALLS — Central Elementary School will be hosting its fourth annual Rockin’Ham 5K on Saturday, April 7. The 5K will begin and end at the Central School, 50 School Street Extension, Bellows Falls. Runners may register online athttps://www.active.com/bellows-falls-vt/running/distance-running/rockin-ham-5k-2018, or paper registrations may be downloaded from the CES website [www.ceshome.org] or picked up at Central School. Same-day registration will begin at 9 a.m. on April 7, and the race start time is 10:30 a.m. The race logo was designed by local artist Erin Shaw of Spot On Screen Printing.
Local sponsors for the race include UNFI, Applied Bolting, The Killarney, Pixie & Pirate Destinations, Whelen, JP Trucking, Whitney Blake, Village Square Booksellers, Chroma, Abenaque Car Wash, Savings Bank of Walpole, Silver Forest of Vermont, Lisai’s Market, Edward Jones, American Legion Post #37, B.A.R.T. A raffle drawing will also be held on the same date with over 60 prizes to be given away! Raffle tickets may be purchased from any Central School student or by contacting the school at (802) 463-4346.
“We are so excited to be hosting the fourth annual Rockin’Ham 5K,” race co-coordinator Kerry Pickering said. “We hope to build on the success of our previous races which were such fun-filled days for all involved. The race promotes health and wellness for both our school and community, and we look forward to seeing everyone there on what we hope will be a beautiful April morning!”
The school is still seeking sponsors, and raffle prize donations continue to be accepted as well. All proceeds from the race benefit the Central School Parent Teacher Organization for programs, field trips, and residencies for Central School students.
