Kiwanis Big Auction set for Saturday

CLAREMONT — The 18th annual Big Kiwanis Auction is set to take place this Saturday to raise money for children’s charities.

The Big Kiwanis Auction will broadcast live on CCTV Channel 8 and live on the radio at Q106FM from 10 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. Saturday, April 7. Organizers noted on the Kiwanis website that this is a new end time.

“The Big Board ends at 4:20 p.m. this year. It is only 20 minutes, not the 30 minute length of the rest of the boards. Don’t miss out by tuning in too late!” the committee wrote on the Kiwanis auction website.

The auction will include hundreds of donated items, altogether valued at more than $25,000, up for bid. The “Big Board,” sponsored by Claremont Savings Bank, includes high-value items such as $500 in gift cards to Hannaford, a $1,303 gift certificate for a course at Granite State College, weekly pizza for a year valued at $863 from Out of the Ordinary, and more.

Bidding will be divided into group lots, A through L, each with 20 items of wide variety such as store and restaurant gift certificates, baseball tickets, a state car inspection, maple syrup, home decor, a Ruger gift bundle, yoga classes, pet supplies, and concert tickets.

On auction day, bidders can call (603) 542-4584 to place bids. For those who want to start bidding early, online bidding will be available at www.ourkiwanisauction.com. Credit cards will be accepted. Instructions on how to bid are also available at the website.

The Kiwanis Club of Claremont’s Auction Committee for Children’s Charities organizes the annual event. Business and community sponsors help make the annual fundraiser a reality.

Sponsors this year also include Lake Sunapee Bank, Valley Regional Hospital, Sugar River Valley Technical Center, Darvi Rosenberg, Clark Mortenson, Berry’s Landscaping Services, Out of the Ordinary, Subway on North Street, McDonald’s, Amy Putnam, Matt Wood and Keith Druhl.
