During the early evening hours Sunday, April 8, 2018, troopers from the Westminster Barracks of the Vermont State Police conducted a saturation patrol on Interstate 91 (I-91) Windham and Windsor counties.
During a saturation patrol, a large number of troopers concentrate on a small geographic area.
The focus of the patrol was to identify and deter aggressive driving while enforcing motor vehicle laws and promoting safe driving on Vermont roadways.
During the patrol, troopers initiated 27 traffic stops, conducted one consent search, which yielded contraband, while issuing a criminal citation to one individual for possession of fireworks.
A total of 18 VCVCs (traffic tickets) and 19 written warnings were issued for various motor vehicle violations.
The state police would like to remind all motorists to consider utilizing a designated driver or seek alternative transportation when planning to consume alcohol.
