NEWPORT — The April 5th meeting of the Newport School Board was cancelled and rescheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 12.
School Board Chairman Linda Wadensten opened the meeting, which was scheduled to be telecast on NCTV.
“Due to a technical error on the agenda, tonight’s meeting has been postponed,” Wadensten said in a 10-second announcement.
According to Vice Chairman Virginia Irwin, the only other school board member present, the meeting agenda was incorrectly dated April 5, 2017. Superintendent of Schools Cindy Gallagher was also in attendance.
The April 12 meeting will be held in the Lou Thompson Room at Sugar River Valley Regional Technical Center. The regular April 19th school board meeting will be held as scheduled.
