Alfred M. Hoidahl

NAPLES, Fla. — Alfred M. Hoidahl, 90, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, at home in Naples, Florida, after a period of failing health. He was born Sept. 16, 1927, in Claremont, to Alfred and Florida (Bonneville) Hoidahl. He graduated from Stevens High School and entered the U.S. Army serving as a ski instructor in Colorado. Skiing continued to be a passion, and he and his family had many happy years skiing together in the winter, and spending summers on Lake Sunapee.

He was an avid tennis player and golfer; and was a longtime member of the Quail Run Golf Club in Naples, Florida. He was also an accomplished wood carver and craftsman.

He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Beverly (Green) Hoidahl in 1999, with whom he owned and operated Hoidahl Insurance Agency in Claremont for many years before their retirement. He was also predeceased by a sister, Anita Mills.

In addition to his wife, Victoria, he leaves behind a son, Randy and wife Janine of Plymouth, Massachusetts; and daughter Lori and husband Philip of Goffstown, New Hampshire. He also leaves grandson Eric Hoidahl, his wife Liz, and their children Brady and Jackson of Charlotte, North Carolina; granddaughter Kate DeConinck of San Diego, California; granddaughter Rebecca (Hoidahl) Johnson, her husband Randy, and their son Carson of Boone, Colorado; grandson Adam Hoidahl and his wife Kassie of Londonderry, New Hampshire; grandson Daniel DeConinck of Belmont, Massachusetts; and granddaughter Sarah Hoidahl and her son Ashton, of Hopkinton, New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves stepdaughter Anna Meyer and husband Jim of Cleveland, Ohio; stepson David Parrotto and wife Thelma of Naples, Florida; and stepson Victor (Che Che) Parrotto and wife Karen, also of Naples, Florida.

Private services will be held for the immediate family in Claremont at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the John Paul II Academy, c/o St. Mary’s Parish, 32 Pearl St., Claremont, NH 03743.
