It is a pleasure to announce that Destiny Burke has been named the March Elks Student of the Month for Bellows Falls Union High School. Destiny, a sophomore, is the daughter of Cynthia Burke of Bellows Falls.
Destiny is a dedicated student who works hard in her classes. She comes to school every day with an interest in learning and an eagerness to broaden her horizons. She puts forth 100 percent effort and holds herself accountable to expectations, even when the work is challenging and the essential understandings are difficult to grasp. She works hard to improve her skills and puts in the time and effort needed to do well.
With a great attitude and a righteous demeanor, she is a pleasure to have in class. She looks out for her peers, is respectful in class and puts a smile on her face even when her day is not going as planned. Always willing to help, Destiny offers assistance to anyone in any way.
Destiny is a proud, active member of the chorus who not only works hard to improve her skills, but is often the first one to encourage her peers and boost their self-esteem. She is in her second year of chorus, where she sings alto. Destiny is willing to take solos, and puts in the time and effort needed to perfect her vocal skills. Along with other members of the ensemble, she is working hard to polish several songs for the upcoming Spring Concert and the Music in the Parks Festival at Six Flags New England in June. Destiny’s spirit of hard work, dedication and her love of music make her a definite MVP in the chorus.
Destiny enriches our community with her positive presence and sense of inclusion for all. She contributes to our local community by working at Shaw’s where she is very friendly and helpful to the customers. She always has a smile on her face as she goes out of her way to help others. She openly voices that she is grateful for the opportunity to work there and appreciates all her co-workers have done to help her learn her job.
Congratulations, Destiny. BFUHS and the Elks are honored to have her represent them this month with the award.
