HANOVER, N.H. — Thomas A. Slavin, 56, died after a long illness Thursday, April 5, 2018, surrounded by loving family.
Born Nov. 2, 1961, to Richard and Agnes (George) Slavin, Tom grew up in Charlestown, and graduated from Fall Mountain Regional High School. He worked most of his life in medical transportation at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
He attained the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth, enjoyed reading and writing poetry, and had a genuine love of photography. The time he enjoyed best was time spent with his daughters, Jackie and Emily. Tom would be best described as a “great person.”
Tom was predeceased by his father. Surviving family includes his mother, Agnes Slavin of Sunapee; daughters, Jackie Ames of Claremont and Emily Higgins of Cornish; siblings, Pauline Slavin, Richard Slavin Jr., Jennifer Slavin, Danielle Peterson and her husband Matthew, Orion Slavin, Caitlyn Slavin, Christina Slavin, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CHAD at DHMC or to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
A graveside service will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee. A Celebration of Life will follow in June.
