Joyce Ellen Grace Brown was born Dec. 20, 1944, in Hanover, New Hampshire. She passed away Nov. 25, 2017, in Deland, Florida.
She was the daughter of the late Howard and Luella Grace of Methodist Hill, East Plainfield.
Joyce had four brothers and two sisters: Howard Grace and wife Joyce of Charlestown, Marjorie Bruce of Lebanon, Robert Grace of Plainfield, Mary Greenwood and husband Larry of Plainfield, Steven Grace and wife Suzanne of Ascutney, Raymond Grace and wife Teri of Cornish; and several nieces and nephews. Joyce also had six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind her husband, William Brown of Deland, Florida; and two sons, Randy Brown and wife Jen of Long Island, New York and Gary Brown and wife Sandra of Deland, Florida. Joyce also leaves behind dear friends, Janet and Gene Owen of Claremont.
Joyce moved with her family to Methodist Hill, East Plainfield around 1955. She went to Meriden School for three years, then graduated from Lebanon High School with the Class of 1952.
Joyce married William Brown on Dec. 1, 1962. They lived in Claremont, where Joyce did waitress work and then she worked at Tampax, after which she and her husband did upholstery work from their home in Unity, before moving to Florida.
Joyce will be missed by all who knew her. She was a caring lady.
She loved to play cards, and watch “Jeopardy,” and “Wheel of Fortune.”
The last 20 years, she had a disability that she bravely fought.
She was a very hard worker. She loved attending church and doing Bible study. She was a devoted Christian. She has gone home to be with the Lord. She is walking with Jesus.
There will be a graveside service held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont. A remembrance service will follow at Cornish Town Hall with refreshments afterward.
