CHARLESTOWN — Bonnie G. Patnode, 72, of Charlestown, died unexpectedly on April 13, 2018 while in the loving care of Peaceful Harvest Homes in Charlestown. She was born July 1, 1945, in Vergennes, Vermont, the daughter of Robert and Marion (Shortsleeves) Forrest. She attended school in Bellows Falls and was a 1963 graduate of Bellows Falls High School. She worked at Major Leonard Keep Restaurant, a local bank, and retired from Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 2011. Bonnie loved her family and her cats. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, baking, feeding and watching the birds but, most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Geoff McCaffrey and wife Kim of Charlestown and Patrick McCaffrey of Athens, Vermont. She is also survived by her grandchildren Crystal Hasty, Julia Labbe, and Hannah McCaffrey, two great-grandchildren and former husband, James McCaffrey. She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter, Karen McCaffrey Labbe and her husband, Linwood Patnode.
At Bonnie’s request, there will be no services. Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery in Bellows Falls. Memorial donations may be made to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 W. Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
