Colby-Sawyer College hosts 15th annual scholars’ symposium

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Colby-Sawyer will host the 15th Annual Susan Colby Colgate Scholars’ Symposium on Tuesday, April 17, starting at 8 a.m. at locations across campus.

Established in 2003 to honor the depth and breadth of learning achieved at Colby-Sawyer, the symposium features seniors’ Capstone research projects as well as presentations by third-year students. Exceptional projects will be acknowledged with Capstone Awards at the Scholars and Leaders Ceremony on Friday, May 4.

The professional environment that awaits the Class of 2018 values critical thinking, adaptability, teamwork and communication skills. The Colby Colgate Scholars’ Symposium allows students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and experience gained in the classroom and through internships that prepare them for their professional lives. The projects are a significant display of the accumulated knowledge of the Class of 2018 and perpetuate Colby-Sawyer’s culture of innovation, scholarship and excellence.

“Attending student presentations are some of my proudest moments as I learn about their research, completed under the mentorship of their professors, that integrates their learning here at Colby-Sawyer,” said Academic Vice President and Dean of Faculty Laura Alexander ’98.

The symposium is named after the college’s first teacher and principal. View the symposium schedule at colby-sawyer.edu.
