PETERBOROUGH, N.H. — Norman E. Bresett, 79, of Washington, New Hampshire, died Monday, April 16, 2018, at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, New Hampshire, following a sudden illness. He was born Aug. 26, 1938, in Claremont, the son of John and Alta (Hal) Bresette and had been a lifetime area resident. Most recently, Norman had been employed at the Transfer Station by the Town of Washington, New Hampshire. He had previously worked at Sturm Ruger in Newport and Customized Structures Inc., in Claremont.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends, fishing and ice fishing on Highland Lake in Washington. Norman helped his friends produce maple syrup for more than 50 years and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Members of his family include a son, Todd Bresett and his wife, Lisa, Sanford, Maine; a daughter, Heather McNamara and her husband, Dennis of Claremont; four grandchildren, Kyle Bresett, Zach Bresett, Samantha Brower and Michael McNamara; his ex-wife and companion, Elaine Bresett of Claremont; a brother, Francis Bresette of Des Plaines, Illinois; a sister, Shirley Betourney of Claremont; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Leon Bresette; and three sisters, Alice Johnson, Alta Sanville and Clara Boyer.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan St., in Claremont, with Rev. Scott Kearns officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
