In the 14th year of Keene Idol, the event returns to its namesake, having matured into a regional competition.
After holding five audition opportunities in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, the Top 25 contestants have been chosen.
Competing for the $5,000 grand prize are Ajlan Beer, Amanda-Lee LeBlanc, Angela Sundaramurthy, Caroline Blaine, Charleigh Gere, Cheyanna Simmons, Cody Bellows, Cristo Buckley, Graham Fortier, Henry O’Connell, Jessica Olson, Kate Brackett, Katie Webb, Kelsey Allard, Lara Germana, Maddox Bashaw, Mariah Delage, Matthew Meserve, Meaghan Farrell, Mekayla Lagerberg, Paige Hudon, Paul Kohler, Teresa Caisse, Tracey Borden and Zach Melcher.
Sponsor Brown Computer Solutions will provide iPads for second, third and fourth place winner.
Returning to the event are Lara Germana (2017 Finalist), Cristo Buckley (2016 Youth Grand Prize Winner) and Jessica Olson (2015 Second Place). New contestants are from the Monadnock Region and as far away as Brookfield, Vermont.
Unlike past years, there will not be a separate youth division. This year’s highly talented young contestants, ages 12 and 13, will perform alongside adults with an equal chance to win the grand prize.
Keene Idol will be held at The Marlborough House in Marlborough, New Hampshire. The function space, once a church, boasts high ceilings and stained glass windows. Guests will enjoy table seating and the ability to order food, as well as a full bar. Unlike past years, seating is limited. Seating, including table reservations for Stageside and General Admission, can be purchased online at http://keeneidol.com.
Elimination rounds will be held on Friday, May 4, 11, 18, 25 and June 1. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for patrons to enjoy a pre-show meal and the event begins at 7:30 p.m.
