Kearsarge 11, Milford 8

NORTH SUTTON — The Cougars came out of the gate red hot to start their home matchup with Milford and used their early lead along with clutch plays late, to hang on for their first win of the season.

After losing in the Division III state finals last year to Hopkinton, Kearsarge is now trying to take small steps to get back to that competitive level. After losing their first two games to Portsmouth and Trinity, this was a step in a positive direction for a young team trying to find its identity.

Kearsarge was led by Tate Nurme’s four goals on eight shots. Kyle Cioffi had three goals on six shots

“I was extremely happy with how the kids competed, Coach Zach Matthews said.
