Those March winds are supposed to bring April showers, according to the weatherman. After a couple of warm days Thursday and Friday more cold air made its way to our area by the weekend of April 14 and 15.
There was a major drop in temperature from a high of 57 on Friday to 46 on Saturday and 28 on Sunday. It was not exactly beach weather.
There was plenty to talk about on Sunday, April 15. A wintry mix of rain sleet, snow and freezing rain hung around for much of the day. It was just a reminder that the winter season has definitely continued to carry over into spring.
Cleaning off vehicles Sunday was a challenge. There was no fluff to the mixture. It was a day to do some chopping. Perhaps this will turn out to be winter’s final blow and was just the icing on the cake.
Most area schools were delayed for two hours Monday morning to allow plows time to clear the roads of the mix, especially the back roads.
