MANCHESTER — On Friday, April 20, an open house for prospective volunteers will be held at Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home, in the Lowerre Family Youth Education Building at 8:30 a.m. Check in is at the Welcome Center. It was a dedicated group of volunteers, the Friends of Hildene, who 40 years ago saved this important historic site and community resource and volunteers remain an integral part of this special place. With the number of visitors Growing an average of 10% each year, volunteer assistance at the house, Pullman car, Welcome Center, The Museum Store, goat dairy, Dene Farm, school programs, office, floral decorating and in the gardens has never been more important.
