Conservation district puts the culture back in agriculture

Claremont and Newport Middle and High School students submitted art to Sullivan County Conservation District’s (SCCD) Seed Packet Art Project this spring. The art will be displayed on Native Pollinator Seed Packets sold through the SCCD Spring Plant Sale, their annual fundraiser.

Local residents who ordered the native pollinator seeds, collected from the SCCD Pollinator Garden in Unity are supporting conservation education in Sullivan County.

Many local teachers requested free seed packets to get their students involved in improving pollinator habitat in their schoolyards. This project has increased awareness  about the importance of pollinators and the role of native plants in the community. Thank you to all the young artists who contributed to this project!

You can check out the seed packet art in an online gallery at www.sccdnh.org.
