Local track teams show out at Windsor Invitational

Windsor- Windsor hosted its Windsor Invitational track meet Saturday morning.

U-32 won the men’s side and lost to a strong Hartford squad by only 5 points on the women’s side in a successful day at the 29 team meet. Andrew Crompton and Nathan Smoller finished 1 and 2 in the Men’s 800 meter and 1500 meter to lead the way for the team from Montpelier. Waylon Kurts and Stephen Looke did the same in the 3000 meter for the winning men’s team. The team of Eleanor Hinckley, Morgan White, Gretchen Josselyn, and Ileana Sirois led the way for the Hartford women, winning the 4×100 relay.

Strong results for the host Windsor team includes a second place finish in the 4×100 men’s as Jacob Curtis, Jacob Tucker, Eli Milligan and Vincent Moeykens finished with a time of 48.10. Jacob Underhill had a personal record of 31’6.5” in the shot put while Terry Ziccardi finished second in the discus with his personal record of 104’5”. Anna Thornton set a school record in the pole vault and a personal record in the 100m with a great time of 15.20 seconds.

Springfield’s Cadence Wheeler tied for the top spot in the men’s pole vault with 10’ even.

Once again the Windsor community and Windsor Athletic Director Andy Tufts put on a great event. Tufts and the 50 plus volunteers organized this meet, and by all accounts, the Windsor Invitational went just as planned.
