Springfield fundraiser will benefit ‘Punk in the Park’

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Spanky’s Dive Bar and Man Cave will host a fundraiser this month to benefit Punk in the Park 13. The fundraiser will include a dance party with Payne DJ Service.

The fundraiser is scheduled from 4 to 10 p.m. on May 26 at Spanky’s, 72 Chester Road. Entry will be $5 at the door. Door prizes valued at more than $300 will be given away during the fundraiser, according to a press release.

The fundraiser will be open to all ages. Attendees must be age 21 or over to drink, and those younger than 18 must be with an adult. The event will be BYOB.

All proceeds goes to help Punk in the Park 13, a free, family-friendly annual concert event in Rutland, organized by Payne. Punk in the Park includes face painting, bounce houses and food, and is a non-smoking, drug- and alcohol-free event.

Operating costs to run the event are $1,000 for sound and insurance, Payne said. Any leftover proceeds from the fundraiser in Springfield will go toward adding to the Punk in the Park kids’ tent, he said.
