SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — A record-breaking 631 consumers and vendors attended the 25th annual Family Festival on Saturday at Riverside Middle School.
The annual family event, coordinated by the Springfield Area Parent Child
Center, was once again “a hit with young and old alike,” according to Angela
Kelley, organizational development coordinator for SAPCC.
Area childcare providers and organizations filled the gym with activities,
games and information. The Scholastic Book Fair sold $2,339 worth of books,
and with a buy one / get one, that means $4,678 worth of reading material
entered the community, Kelley said.
VT & NH Photo Booth, sponsored by Cota Oil, helped capture memories with
instant print-outs of silly, dress-up fun. Lindsay and her Puppet Pals,
sponsored by Springfield Medical Care Systems, wowed the crowd with
hilarious characters and storylines.
To build on the fun, S.T.E.P., a collaborative program between Edgar May and SAPCC, coordinated and “exciting and wildly popular” Touch-a-Truck event outside, immediately following the Family Festival, all according to organizers, who thanked all who organized and participated in the day celebrating children, families and caregivers.
