Local saturation patrol nets 39 tickets

WINDHAM and WINDSOR COUNTIES — During the early evening hours of May 2, Vermont State Police troopers from the Westminster barracks conducted a saturation patrol in Windham and Windsor counties in southeastern Vermont, concentrating their efforts on Interstate 91.

During the patrol, troopers initiated 31 traffic stops, while issuing a total of 39 VCVC traffic tickets and written warnings for various motor vehicle violations. One operator was found to be driving with a criminally suspended license and was arrested for the same.

Another operator was found to be driving down the interstate on a rim, without a tire affixed to it. The vehicle was towned from the interstate, and the operator was issued a VCVC for violation of Title 23 VSA 1092: Damaging surface of road.

The Vermont State Police would like to remind all motorists to consider using a designated driver or seek alternate transportation when planning to consume alcohol.
