ORMOND BY THE SEA, Fla. — Edna Ruth DiPardo (nee Wilson), age 89, of Ormond by the Sea, Florida, passed away on Sunday, April 29.
Edna was born in Norfolk, Massachusetts, and raised on a farm in New Hampshire. She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony DiPardo; two sons, Robert and Peter Larmie of Florida; two brothers, David and Harold Wilson; and two sisters, Laura Chamberlain and Pauline Edwards. Also mourning her loss are her stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Edna was a world traveler, a talented golfer, an athletic tennis player, and an active member of the Halifax River Yacht Club in Daytona Beach, Florida, and was a top supporter of their Youth Sailing program. She was a member of Riverview United Methodist Church in Ormond by the Sea.
Before moving to Florida, she was a keen businesswoman. Along with Hamilton Krans, Edna established a finance company and a durable goods distribution organization, and co-founded one of the first cable television companies in New Hampshire. Edna will be remembered for her generosity, style, and quiet thoughtfulness.
Edna will be laid to rest beside her predeceased husband, Hamilton Krans, at noon Saturday, May 12 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport, New Hampshire. The Independent Order of Foresters will host a gathering of friends and family following a graveside service.
