Barbara J. Lillios

BOW and CLAREMONT — Barbara J. Lillios, 80, of Bow, New Hampshire, died peacefully at home on May 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born in Claremont, New Hampshire, the daughter of Daisy (Harden) and George LeClair.

She graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont in 1956. After high school, Barbara attended the NH Hospital School of Nursing where she became licensed as a registered nurse in 1959. Barbara devoted her entire nursing career to the NH State Hospital, which spanned 37 years. In 1961 she married Christos Lillios to whom she was married for 55 years before his death.

Barbara was very active after retirement. She belonged to the NH State Employees Association where, for many years, she was instrumental in the success of Operation Santa Claus. Barbara became a member of the Bow Young at Heart Club in 2002. She served that organization for many years as their trip coordinator. Barbara was clearly devoted to her family as she generously shared her talents of knitting, painting, and cooking.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Christos; and her siblings: Theresa Patenaude, Bruce LeClair, Joe LeClair, Thelma Fecteau, and Arthur LeClair, Sr. She is survived by siblings: Freda Jones, George LeClair, Fred LeClair, and Rosemary Clark; and many nieces and nephews.

No viewing or funeral service is planned; instead there will be a family graveside service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Barbara’s family requests that a donation be made in her honor to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association / Hospice Program, The Slusser Center, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301.
