Police arrest wanted man from Ascutney

ASCUTNEY, Vt. — The Vermont State Police have arrested a wanted person from Ascutney, Vermont in Rockingham, Vermont. 

Vermont State Police stopped 47-year-old Michael H. Wesolowski of Ascutney, which is in the village of Weathersfield, Windsor County, at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 on Vermont Route 103 in the town Rockingham for a moving violation, according to a press release.

An investigation revealed that Wesolowski had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of town of Chittenden (Chittenden County), Vermont. Wesolowski was wanted for failing to appear on a retail theft charge in 2017.

Wesolowski was arrested and transported to Southern State Correctional Facility, and was scheduled to appear at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division.

Bail was set at $50, according to police.
