Arts Festival will include music and student artwork

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — The Springfield High School Arts Department invites families and neighbors to enjoy the artistic work of our students this year, on display for the eyes and ears during the annual Arts Festival on Thursday, May 24 at the high school.

Drawings, paintings and more will be on display in the school lobby and auditorium beginning at 6 p.m.

A concert by the Wind Ensemble, Chorus and Madrigal Singers will begin at 7 p.m. Musical selections will include a traditional spiritual, John William’s film themes, and rock hit “More Than a Feeling” by Boston. Selections will also include folk songs, an a cappella arrangement of “Shut Up and Dance” and the premiere of a new march dedicated to Springfield veterans (the same march will be featured during the Springfield VFW Memorial Day Parade).

Senior vocal soloists will round out the evening with featured songs accompanied by special guest, concert pianist Daniel Weiser.

Admission will be free.
